Your Care Journey

What to Expect When You Request Dental Care

From your first request to follow-up care, here is what happens when Senior Mobile Dental Services brings dental care to you or your loved one.

How Mobile Dental Care Works

Your Care, Step by Step

We keep things simple for patients, families, POAs and caregivers. Here is what you can expect after you reach out to us.

Step 1 of 6

Request Dental Care

You, a family member, a Power of Attorney (POA) or a caregiver can fill out our Request Dental Care form or call us at (613) 854-8007. We ask for the basic information we need to understand the request, such as who needs care, where they live and what concerns you have.

Step 2 of 6

We Review Your Request

Our team reviews the information and contacts you to talk about the patient’s needs, location and availability, along with any health information that is important for the visit. This is also a good time to ask us your questions.

Step 3 of 6

We Coordinate the Appointment

We arrange a suitable appointment and let you know what to expect on the day of the visit. When it applies, we also coordinate with the family or POA, staff where the patient lives, or the healthcare professional who referred the patient. We bill insurance and CDCP directly.

Step 4 of 6

Our Dental Team Comes to You

Our dental team visits the patient where they live, whether that is a private home, a retirement residence or a long-term care home. The visit may include an assessment or examination and, where clinically appropriate, dental care such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, denture care or other suitable mobile dental services. The care provided depends on each patient’s needs and clinical suitability.

Step 5 of 6

Treatment Plan and Next Steps

After the visit, we explain our findings and recommendations to the patient and, where appropriate, to the family, POA or care team. This can include treatment recommendations, any follow-up that is needed, and options such as denture care or dental treatment. Treatment goes ahead once the appropriate consent is in place.

Step 6 of 6

Ongoing Care and Follow-Up

If more care or follow-up is needed, we coordinate future on-site visits with you and, where relevant, the care team. You can contact us at any time with questions about the patient’s care.
